One thing is certain: we’re not going back to how things used to be! Companies that regarded the past year’s working from home as a “necessary evil” and only “allowed” it because it was mandated by the government will see much of their talent leave if they ever open their doors again. We have entered a new world of work. Whether you call it ABW (Acitivity Based Working) or NWOW (New Way of Working): being at the office 100% of the time is a thing of the past. But nonetheless, I don’t believe in 100% working from home, that’s not good for anyone. Because we have all experienced how much we miss the connection with colleagues. It suddenly becomes obvious what the role of the coffee corner in the office is: so much more than dispensing coffee or tea! It is the ideal spot for a nice chat with colleagues, to enjoy a well-deserved break, to have a chat with someone from IT, sales, marketing or HR.
So: let’s go for the best of both worlds! But guide your employees in this respect.
Give them concrete tips on the best way to set up their work spot, how to structure their day and how to divide it up into blocks. Inspire them to look after themselves. Let them come up with rituals as a clear start & stop signal for their day. Give them the necessary ergonomic tips and give them a chance to pick up their office chair at the office if they don’t have one at home.
Do you want to guide your employees as effectively as possible in this new way of working? Send me a message to [email protected] or call me at 0476/401.103 and I’ll be delighted to come and offer inspiration!
